Yannai Schrire was born in Jerusalem in 2006, starting his piano studies in 2020, and composition the following year. Currently he is studying composition at the Mozarteum University Salzburg under Sarah Nemtsov.

His music is centred around the usage of unstable sounds, if by instrumental means with extended techniques, or with live electronic augmentation of the instrumental sounds. An additional interest is the frail nature of performance, which is amplified with the use of specific sound production or varying degrees of freedom in notation. This also means that in pieces that utilise electronic media, spontaneity and reaction to the performs’ interpretive choices are of high importance.
